About Us
Basement Born—Spotlight Ready
Brooklyn Basement Dance Company was founded by Leah Ramos and David Gamboa — two artists with sharp instincts, serious execution, and a shared belief that dance spaces should reflect both excellence and heart.
We’re building a studio where talent is taken seriously, and work ethic is the core value. A place that balances discipline and creative freedom. Where mirrors reflect more than form — they reflect effort, growth, and grit.
Brooklyn Basement is a competitive dance school, committed to preparing dancers to take the stage at local and national competitions with skill, confidence, and artistry.
At Brooklyn Basement, it’s not about hype. It’s about showing up, pushing through, and building something real — one class, one dancer, one moment at a time.
This is the space we always looked for — now we’re building it from the ground up.
With community. With vision. With everything we’ve got.
Welcome to the Basement.

Our Story
Leah Ramos & David Gamboa
Co-founders of Brooklyn Basement Dance Company, Leah and David have been best friends for 14 years — bonded by a shared love of movement, performance, and the competitive drive to build something lasting.
With Leah’s sharp business mind and David’s world-class dance experience, they’ve created a studio that’s equal parts grit, talent, and heart. Their chemistry, trust, and relentless work ethic are the foundation of Brooklyn Basement — a space built to raise the standard and move with purpose.
